A workshop just for women
We care about women connecting and learning together |
We feel passionate about helping women not only build their individual leadership and self-development, but also about helping women connect with each other at all stages of life. The ability to relate to, support and influence other women is critical in all of our professional and personal arenas. And, it's not always automatic or simple. Multi-gender learning groups are rich and rewarding -- we love them, too! But sometimes in those settings, woman-to-woman connections take longer to develop or receive less attention. We occasionally offer women-only groups to more fully address a need that we believe is important and underserved. Our experiences in women's leadership are far-reaching. Having worked as an engineer herself, Tuquynh is passionate about coaching women in tech and minority leaders how to navigate today’s complex and global environments. Jana and Tuquynh are both Master Facilitators for the Stanford GSB Alumnae Women’s Circles program, where they design and deliver trainings for co-leaders of global women’s circles to create safe and meaningful spaces for members to reflect, to connect, and to give and receive support and inspiration. They were honored to create and lead workshops for the 2019 Global Leadership Summit of the GSB Women’s Alumnae Circles Program. A senior facilitator and mentor for the Women In Management program at Stanford Business School, Nirit has also enjoyed the unique opportunity of facilitating customized circles for expat women. The deep and layered relationships that emerged in those circles have assisted women in developing a collective sense of camaraderie and support, as well as increased individual self-assurance and leadership capacities. Jana has facilitated several Stanford GSB Women in Management groups, co-created and facilitated “Full Power 40’s” and “Full Power 50’s” Workshops for Women, and led support groups for new Mothers of Multiples after her identical twin sons were born. She also co-developed and facilitated a workshop on Internalized Sexism for Stanford's pool of professional facilitators, to help women understand our own journey as well as more deeply understand and support one another in being fully ourselves. |
What we'll ask of you
THIS WORKSHOP, LIKE EVERY T-GROUP, IS A UNIQUE LEARNING EXPERIENCE
1. It requires active participation
The Interpersonal and Group Dynamics Workshop is not a "spectator sport". You'll have an active role in driving your own learning and contributing to the learning of the other 8-11 women in your group. You'll be encouraged to take reasonable risks (we suggest a 15% risk, which is out of your comfort zone and builds new skills, but will keep you safely out of any "danger" zones). This is different from passive classroom-style learning experiences.
2. We talk about feelings and emotions
In the "Interpersonal and Group Dynamics" experiential workshop, it's common for feelings and emotions to arise and be shared. You may even choose to share personal stories with the other women that are relevant to what's emerging in the Circle. Recognizing and sharing more of your own feelings - and learning to be with and respond to other members' feelings - is an important ingredient of T-group learning. At the same time, this is not a therapy group. In fact, if you're currently in therapy we'll ask that you consult with your therapist to ensure it's a good time for you to engage in this type of intensive learning experience.
3. It's for people who want to stretch themselves
You'll need to be willing to take risks, make some mistakes, and have conversations that may feel vulnerable and uncomfortable. Learning requires us to stretch and try new things. The discussions will not be about problem-solving or role-playing; conversations are about the real thoughts and reactions group members are having to one another and to what is (or what is not) happening. Much of the learning comes from authentic "here and now" feedback that participants give and receive, which can be refreshing and a bit outside our comfort zones. Participants report that the rewards are well worth their investment in momentary discomfort. And, it's important to assess whether this is something you're open to doing at this moment in time.
4. Sounding like a good fit?
